A Mother's Note:

Welcome to the Westchester County Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated!

On behalf of the warm and wonderful mothers of the Westchester County Chapter, I welcome you to explore this site to learn about Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated and the rich history of the Westchester Chapter.

Founded in 1938, Jack and Jill is a membership organization of mothers with children ages 2 – 19, dedicated to nurturing future African American leaders by strengthening children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty.  In 1954, 14 families had the vision to form the Westchester Chapter, establishing the 63rd chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated.

Today, the 100 dedicated mothers of the Westchester Chapter commit their talents and resources to delivering dynamic developmental, social, civic and philanthropic programming that empowers our families and helps our communities thrive.  In addition to ensuring the success of our chapter for the last 67years, Westchester mothers are devoted to the Jack and Jill organization, serving in a variety of Regional and National roles. Most notably, National President Nellie Thornton served two terms from 1990 to 1994.

As the 36th President of the Westchester County Chapter, I look forward to a year of meaningful and impactful programming, fellowship opportunities with our mothers, children and families while forming new bonds of friendship within our communities.

Yours in service,

Dawn Hankin
